SOLAR PROTECTION INDEXES
Evaluating Photoderm Lait Ultra SPF 50+ properties, it can be considered as:
- a very high solar protection (SPF >50+)(1) reinforced against UVA(2)
- very water resistant (according to Cosmetics Europe (former COLIPA) guidelines 2005)(1)
- very sweat resistant (3)
- sand resistant (4)
- suitable for wet skin (Photoderm Lait Ultra SPF 50+ has an SPF of 50+ when applied on wet skin) (5).
PREVENTION OF INDUCED IMMUNOSUPRESSION & OXIDATIVE STRESS
In vitro evaluations of Sun Active Defense patent, showed compared to the filter only, it helps to prevent protein oxidation (+30%* preservation of catalase activity) and lipid oxidation (+26%* protection against squalene oxidation). (6)
It also limits the migration of Langerhans cells due to UV (+24%* protection of skin immunosuppression).(6).
OTHER PROPERTIES
After a single application of Photoderm Lait Ultra SPF 50+ on patients with dry skin, we observed a significant increase in the skin hydration after 2 hours (+60.1%*).(7)
30 minutes after a single application, Photoderm Lait Ultra SPF 50+ demonstrated a significant immediate protective effect on skin barrier (Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL) : -24.8%** vs T0)(8)
No significant increase was observed in the number of blackheads, microcysts, papules and pustules after 28 days of use in patients with combination to oily, acne prone skin on the face. Photoderm Lait Ultra SPF50+ is therefore non-comedogenic. (9)
Photoderm Lait Ultra SPF50+ is respectful of aquatic ecosystems, presenting no toxicity on coral, microalgae (NF ISO 10253) and daphnia (OECD 202)(10)
TOLERANCE
Photoderm Lait Ultra SPF 50+ is very well tolerated on the ocular level and on the cutaneous level even when tested on skin irritated by stripping (11,12)

More than 80% of patients or parents of babies thought that Photoderm Lait Ultra SPF50+ was easy to spread, quickly absorbed, did not leave a sticky film and did not leave white streaks on the skin.(13,14)
